Court Square Park lies in the heart of downtown Memphis, a symbolic center of the city. Local preservationists and developers asked Telesis to join them in an effort to preserve, rebuild, and revitalize these unique buildings.

Adjacent to the Park are some of the most historic buildings in Memphis including the Lincoln American Tower, the tallest building in the South, when it was built in 1924. Also the Lowenstein Department Store built in 1885, is a distinguished building which embodies the generational memories created by the first emporium in Memphis. These and other building were in danger of being lost at the beginning of the new millennium. In partnership with the City of Memphis, Telesis and its partners structured a multi-faceted finance plan including the use of both New Market and Historic Tax Credits to create equity investment. The project, with a total development cost of $58 million, sparked additional investment in the neighborhood, including renovation of the adjoining park and a new 130-room hotel across the street.
