The Centre Theatre, in the Barclay neighborhood of Baltimore, opened in 1939 with a Hollywood-style opening on North Avenue. Closed in 1959, the building had multiple re-incarnations as a bank, radio station, and church. Telesis CDE provided financing to Jubilee Baltimore to convert the vacant building into an incubator for technology, arts, and innovation. Completed in 2015, the $18 million project contains a software company, the film programs of Johns Hopkins University and Maryland Institute College of Art, and The Center for Neighborhoods, a collaborative work space for nonprofits that serve Baltimore neighborhoods.
